What is happening where, and when?
Work to the highways and public spaces will take place at Shrovetide Walk, Millenium Square, Victoria Square and the Market Place, and on St John Street, Dig Street, Buxton Road, Station Road, Shaw Croft and Horse and Jockey Yard. Preparatory work took place over summer and autumn 2024 and main started late January 2025. This project is led by Derbyshire County Council.
During the first phase of works (planned 3-28 February) the south section of Dig Street will be closed to traffic. All works shut down to allow Royal Shrovetide football to go ahead as usual before the second stage of works started on 10 March with the closure of Dig Street (north section) and St John Street to traffic, with wider traffic management and diversions in place.
Work to create the Link Community Hub will take place at Ashbourne Methodist Church on the corner of Church Street and Station Road. Work began at the end of 2024, and is expected to complete by the end of 2025. This project is led by Ashbourne Methodist Church.
At the public events in December, representatives of Ashbourne Reborn shared the phasing plans showing the expected programme of works. You can read them in this 'Updated Phasing Plans' article.

Who represents businesses on the Ashbourne Reborn Programme Board and projects?
The Ashbourne Reborn proposals originated from businesses and community groups within the town. Business interests are represented by Ashbourne Town Team, made up of business owners and residents from the town. The Town Team has a place on both the overall Programme Board and two places on the Highways and Public Realm Project Board. If you or any other business feel your issues and concerns are not being represented, we would encourage you to get involved in the Town Team.
Contact the Town Team via the Discover Ashbourne website or follow on social media (IG @discoverashbourne and fb @Discover Ashbourne). This fantastic resource is organised by volunteers representing businesses across the town and is designed for residents and visitors to find out what's on and explore the variety of shops, cafes and businesses across the town. Make sure that your business is represented, and get involved with the Town Team to help businesses in town thrive.
