Air quality is usually good in the Derbyshire Dales but If you have concerns about air pollution you contact the District Council's Environmental Health service. The council takes air pollution seriously and its impact on people's health. Contact Environmental Health for advice or to report any pollution problems in your area.
This includes requesting advice on matters such as:
- Air quality within your local area
- Concerns about burning waste or materials inappropriately
- Concerns about vehicle emissions
- Concerns about air pollution from a manufacturing site, or a site subject to an Environmental Permit, allowing the release of air pollution into the environment. Sites can be permitted by the Council and the Environment Agency.

The Council works with other agencies (including Derbyshire County Council, Public Health, and Defra) to reduce air pollution in the Derbyshire Dales.
