Ashbourne is still open for business
All the partners involved in Ashbourne Reborn recognise that it wouldn’t be possible to make these changes without some disruption. We will work closely throughout the project with local residents to work out how we can minimise the impact on your daily lives.
Find out what's on in Ashbourne and explore the variety of shops, cafes and businesses across the town with Discover Ashbourne. Visit the website or follow on social media (IG @discoverashbourne and fb @Discover Ashbourne). This fantastic resource is organised by volunteers representing businesses across the town, and has all the latest from independent shops, cafes and restaurants, things to see and do, and upcoming events.
During the works, there may be temporary road closures or traffic lights. In this case, locations will be shared on the Ashbourne Reborn website and social media so you can find out what is going on and where. The County Council will develop detailed traffic management plans to ensure there are appropriate alternative routes during periods when roads need to close in the town centre, and any diversions will be clearly signposted. The Market Place closed as a car park in February 2025, but there is plenty of parking elsewhere in the town centre. Find more information on our webpage about parking in Ashbourne, and read about Plans for the Market Place in the FAQ section of our website.
